Primary Description:
Original color of glasses uncertain, possibly an amber or brown matrix with opaque white, opaque yellow, or opaque blue trails, some pinprick bubbles open at surface, entire vessel is covered with a buff to white weathering product; core formed, trail decorated and tooled. Short cylindrical neck has been cut into six vertical segments, tooled and shaped to form the six lobed finial of a pomegranate, tooling marks are in evidence about the neck and on the sides of the individual elements; wall spreads out into a squat globular form with slightly larger diameter at the shoulder; three trails have been applied below the shoulder and three more above the base and marvered into the surface, the upper series was dragged up toward the neck, leaving a scalloped or undulating line in relief where the glass has been pulled up and away from the body of the vessel; the lower series has been dragged down toward the base, forming a feather or festooned register which imitates the upper decoration; the relief pattern created on the shoulder is not repeated at the base.
