Primary Description:
Grey-tinted non-lead glass; blown, diamond engraved, gilt. (a) Cylindrical shape with trailed foot ring; gilt band around rim; sides elaborately decorated in diamond-point with an elaborate floral and fruit border; two large coats of arms on either side, one (Saxony) with the inscription above "V.G.G.C. II.H.Z.S.D.H.R.R.E.V.C.R.R.E.V.C." and on the opposite side the other (Denmark) with the inscription above "V.G.G.H.C.Z.S. G.A.S.D."; inscribed "ANNO CHRISTI" and "1605" in the spaces between coats of arms; formal panels on sides near the base bearing two Herzog Saxon shields (with crown and crossed swords), with foliate swag border below; base with kick and rough pontil mark, and inscribed with a crown and "144." in red paint on base. (b) Double-domed, circular shape with folded rim and inset cylindrical brim; domes decorated with diamond-engraved formal foliate bands; finial composed of a gilded ball knop and straight stem above a disk merese, and flattened ball; rough pontil mark.
