Primary Description:
Fragment of Beaker or Vase. Colorless, with elongated bubbles slanting downward from left to right; decorated in red, yellow, light blue, and white. Blown; enameled. Fragment of beaker or vase. Wall (Th. 0.1-0.2 cm) tapers at top of fragment, then descends almost vertically. Decorated on outside with small parts of two registers divided by border (W. 1.2 cm). Upper register: bottom of inscription with light blue letters outlined in red and with small white elements in background. Border: row of overlapping, almost flat S-shaped elements in (left to right) red, white, blue, and red, apparently repeating; above them, yellow stripe outlined in red; below them, identical yellow stripe, but with red outline at bottom only. Lower register (W. at least 4.6 cm): surviving part has medallion (D. about 4 cm) with yellow border outlined in red; it contains, on red background, lion with red outline and white body; it is in left profile, with head turned toward viewer, right foreleg raised, and long, curving tail; area outside medallion is filled with white dots.
