Primary Description: 
"Shagreen-covered" wood case, lined with dark red velvet and woven silver-thread bands; silvered brass fittings. Rectangular box with domed, paneled, hinged top; covered on the exterior with stamped black imitation shagreen; brass bail handle and escutcheon on top, harp and lock plate on the side, oval hinges on the back, all apparently formerly silvered; four brass buttons on the black- painted wood bottom; the interior divided into eight compartments, each fitting one bottle, and two circular tubes at the center; the tops of the compartments and the inside of the cover lined with padded dark red velvet, trimmed with narrow tape incorporating silver threads; one pink tape ribbon (originally two) to prevent the lid falling open; the compartments also lined with black paper below the velvet.
