Ian Simmonds

Ian Simmonds is an independent scholar and antique dealer specializing in early American glass. His research includes the discovery of New York City machine-cut glass of the 1850s and the attribution of contemporary glass made in Brooklyn, better classification of early American glass of all kinds, and exploring the many aspects of glass design. Simmonds sells privately as well as at leading shows, both to institutions and advanced private collectors. He started collecting as a child in England, moved to New York in 1995, and purchased his first antique glass in 1997. Simmonds lives in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

Simmonds is a featured speaker at the 57th Annual Seminar on Glass at The Corning Museum of Glass.
