Rainald Franz

Rainald Franz is an art historian studying Vienna, Munich, Rome, London and Venice with major topics of research in the history of architecture, the history of ornament, decorative arts and early design. He currently serves as Curator of Glass and Ceramic Collection at MAK – Austrian Museum of Applied Arts/Contemporary Art, and curated Glass of the Architects, Vienna 1900-1939, a cooperation between the MAK Vienna and LE STANZE DEL VETRO. He is Assistant Professor at the Vienna University and the University of Applied Arts: History of Ornament, and from 2007-2013 Chaired the ICDAD-International Committee of Decorative Arts and Design.

Franz is a featured speaker at the 57th Annual Seminar on Glass at The Corning Museum of Glass.
