Theresa Jorgensen
Theresa Jorgensen

Theresa Jorgensen grew up in Seagrove, N.C., where she made pottery from a young age. She first learned glassblowing at StarWorks, N.C., in 2009 and fell in love with the medium. Jorgensen attended Orrefors Riksglasskolan (National Glass School) in 2010 where she learned many Swedish techniques and styles in a traditional crystal factory setting. After which she moved to Austin, Tex., where she did production work and assisted many glass blowers in the Central Texas area. She continued her education by attending classes at the Pilchuck Glass School as well as lectures and demonstrations around the country.

Jorgensen joined the Museum in 2017 as a gaffer/narrator for the Blow Glass at Sea program. While not at sea she works with various artists around the country and continues to develop her own style in glass by combining her traditional Swedish background with American and Italian glass techniques.
