Cold Working
All Levels
Two-Week Session

Using solid blocks of glass, students will experiment with aspects of advanced cold working: grinding, polishing, surface decoration, and laminating. Students will be introduced to various tools including flat grinders and cutting/engraving lathes. Processes to be taught include cutting and engraving with both stone and diamond and laminating with HXTAL epoxy to join glass elements. Students should be ready to have fun in the cold shop!

Please be aware that cold working is physically demanding and there are long days of standing involved in this course. Students will need to be able to lift, carry, and hold small blocks of glass for long periods of time.

No glassworking experience is required.
