Drill Engraving: Principles and Potential

July 1 - 6, 2019
Engraving and Cold Working
All Levels
One-Week Session

Glass engraving with a small drill is an intuitive technique: the drill is held to the glass in the same way you would hold a pencil to paper. During this intensive practical course, students will explore in detail the marks and textures that can be made with small diamonds, stones, and polishers. They will build up a repertoire they can draw on to realize their own designs. Students will learn how to transfer their own drawings and images onto clear glass and experiment with line, surface, and intaglio styles.

All skill levels are welcome.
