This class will cover the fundamentals of sculpting in borosilicate. Students will start on small detailed sculptures, animals, plant life, and human forms. Advanced students will quickly move to creating hollow forms and using larger scale construction and techniques to make their sculptures functional. Group discussions will cover a wide range of topics like using one’s strengths to cultivate and expand on one’s individual style. We will also discuss learning from mistakes, on-the-spot decision making, and how best to recover a piece once disaster strikes.

One year of flameworking experience is required.
