Fragments from Nature

April 17 - 18, 2021 9:00am to 4:00pm
All Levels
Weekend Workshop

Students will learn to flamework glass rods into sculptural forms inspired by nature. The class will explore fundamental techniques to shape, apply color, and use tools for sculpting glass with a flame. This two-day workshop is structured with multiple demonstrations between working periods for students to apply techniques through hands-on experience at the torch. Assembly of the forms created throughout the first day will be encouraged to construct a final sculpture on the second day. This class uses borosilicate (hard) glass. All skill levels are welcome.

For the wellbeing of all students and staff, The Studio workshops have been modified, class capacity has been reduced, and sanitizing and social distancing protocols have been introduced. Detailed information about these measures can be found on The Studio Health and Safety page.
