In this class, students will work on developing creative intelligence while focusing on technical aspects of sculpting in borosilicate glass. Students will also learn how to integrate moving parts into their sculptural work. The course will involve character development as students create personalities and backstories for their works. With a strong sense of concept, students will experiment with joinery: specifically, hinge, pivot, and ball joints. Emphasis on new ideas, intuition, and the use of mixed media will be encouraged as students strive for technical excellence. Group and individual demonstrations will be given. Students in this class will work with borosilicate (hard) glass.

No flameworking experience is necessary.
