Back to basics: Begin with the review of proper gathering skills, blowing a bubble, and bringing a piece to completion. Then, move on to adding different colors using frit, rod, basic cane, and murrine. Next, students will explore the addition of handles, feet, body wraps, and lip wraps. Last, the use of optic molds and other surface decorations will be explored. This class will emphasize building the foundation of blown glass while expanding the use of decorative techniques, all with plenty of practice time. This class is intended for students who have completed the beginner class and are looking to expand their repertoire with new techniques while perfecting ones already learned.
