Online Course: Professional Practice for Glassmakers
Classes
Join The Studio’s director, Amy Schwartz, for a four-week online course dedicated to advancing your glassmaking career. Planning and communication can open doors to new audiences and present opportunities for artistic growth. With contributions from experts, students will learn through online presentations and conversations. Topics for discussion will include retail and wholesale strategies, marketing and PR, graduate school admissions, applying for residencies, and developing relationships with museums and galleries.
Students in the class will also have the opportunity for a one-on-one critique of their work with Susie J. Silbert, curator of contemporary glass, outside of class time.
The class will be delivered via weekly video conferences that incorporate live presentations and class discussions. Classes take place Mondays, 7–8:30 pm EST, beginning June 7, 2021. Students registered for this course should have a reliable internet connection during class hours and a computer or tablet that can support video and audio communication. All students will have an online orientation with Studio staff prior to June 7 to ensure connectivity. If this class is full, we encourage you to email your name and phone number to [email protected] to be added to the waiting list.
