Paperweights at the Furnace

Students will make paperweights that contain a variety of colorful and interesting glass inclusions. Inclusions will be encased in crystal before forming the glass into classic paperweight shapes. Some glassworking experience is necessary, students should be able to comfortably gather glass from the furnace.

For the wellbeing of all students and staff, The Studio workshops have been modified, class capacity has been reduced, and sanitizing and social distancing protocols have been introduced. Detailed information about these measures can be found on The Studio Health and Safety page.

Students registered for this class must comply with the New York State COVID-19 Travel Advisory and Museum guidelines. Because NY State strongly discourages non-essential interstate travel this class is currently only open to NY State residents.
