Workshop Coordinator, The Studio

With the Workshop management team, responsible for the smooth operation of The Studio’s Make Your Own Glass Workshop. Coordinates operations and daily activities in the absence of the Workshop Manager and Team Leader. Supports the Fun with Glass program.


  • With the Workshop Manager and Team Leader, coordinates the activities of all workshop associates.
  • Assists the Workshop Manager in training all associates, including seasonal workers.
  • Maintains the Make Your Own Glass Workshop according to the guidelines set by the Workshop Manager.
  • Works with the public on an individual basis to create furnace-worked, flameworked, sandblasted or fused glass objects.
  • Processes all glass objects from their creation to their departure from The Studio, including running annealers, and packing and labeling objects for shipping or pickup.
  • Assists with group events and Fun with Glass programs.
  • Assists with technical duties as needed, including preparing supplies, running the shops and cleaning and maintaining equipment.
  • Resolves customer service issues as required.
  • Maintains high safety standards and adheres to all Museum safety policies and procedures.


  • Degree in glass or relevant experience required.
  • Must have working knowledge of glassblowing, flameworking, sandblasting and fusing and related equipment.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to learn CMOG/Reservations and UPS World Ship programs.
  • Must enjoy working with the public, including children.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with people of different cultures.
  • Ability to work weekends and evenings as needed.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
