Behind the Glass: Lauscha Ornaments

Glass Christmas ornaments, now an essential part of many holiday celebrations, had their humble beginnings in Lauscha, Germany. Experience that origin story and discover how they spread across globe, a migration that includes a special connection to Corning, New York.

Regan Brumagen, Reference & Visitor Services Librarian, and Kelly Conway, Curator of American Glass join Marcie Davis, importer and Lauscha, Germany tour leader and CMoG flameworker Eric Goldschmidt for a special program and demonstration about the glass holiday ornaments that have made celebrations sparkle for years.

Museum Members at the Donor level and above ($125+) are invited to come early for a private reception at 5:15 pm. Please RSVP to +1 (607) 438-5600 or [email protected] by December 5.
