Jason Christian: Guest Artist Demonstration

Amphitheater Hot Shop
February 20 - 24, 2019 10:00am to 4:00pm
Jason Christian making glass art.

See guest artist Jason Christian during live, narrated demonstrations in the Amphitheater Hot Shop February 20 through 24 from 10 am to 4 pm. Watch as Christian, assisted by members of the Hot Glass Team in the Amphitheater Hot Shop, creates work inspired by classical Venetian techniques and modern simplicity.

Living and working in Seattle, Christian first became involved in glass art in his early 20s. While his work has evolved over time, he’s known for utilizing reticello in his pieces. More recently, he has been developing sculptural pieces, most notably his “red dragon,” which was inspired by his experience working with Italian master Pino Signoretto.

Please note that the artist will take lunch breaks each day, so times may vary.

Artist Jason Christian focuses on a work in progress.

Jason Christian

Growing up, Jason Christian thought that he would find his place working in the blue-collar world. However, after his mother suggested he check out a glass studio she had read about in a magazine, he was inspired to pursue a career in glass. Diving into the Northwest glass scene in the late ‘90s, Christian was able to flourish and grow alongside Italian master glassblowers.
