Glass goblet in golds, beiges, and bronzes

Using his own innovative flameworking techniques, artist Igor Balbi instructs students in his class how to make a goblet from soda-lime glass using a mini blowpipe. Get an insider’s view into his process during this live stream from his class Goblets on June 5.

When not teaching at The Studio, Balbi makes colorful, delicate goblets in his Murano workshop. He has perfected his signature flameworking techniques over the last 25 years to develop a sophisticated style all his own.

Free live stream demo! Watch on cmog.org or The Corning Museum of Glass Facebook page when the event is live. Unable to watch the live stream? Each demo will be added to the Museum’s YouTube channel. See the full listing of past live streamed demonstrations, and check back for new videos soon.
