Melissa Vandenberg: Live Stream Guest Artist Demonstration

Amphitheater Hot Shop
|
March 14, 2019 2:00pm to 4:00pm

See Rockwell collaborative guest artist Melissa Vandenberg during a live, narrated demonstration in the Amphitheater Hot Shop on March 14 from 2 to 4 pm. Watch as Vandenberg collaborates with the Museum's Hot Glass Team to experiment with new ideas and processes to further enhance her mixed media and sculptural works. Watch on cmog.org or The Corning Museum of Glass Facebook page when the event is live.

Inspired by relics of Americana, eastern religious practices, and an overall nostalgia for vintage materials, Vandenberg creates sculptures and installations that address the fleeting nature of power and a lack of permanence with both the tangible and metaphysical. Born and educated in Detroit, Vandenberg earned a BFA from Center for Creative Studies in Detroit, and an MFA from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. She currently lives and works in eastern Kentucky where she is an associate professor of art at Eastern Kentucky University.
