You Design It; We Make It

You Design It; We Make It!

Try your hand at designing your own glass masterpiece. With You Design It; We Make It!, glassmaking comes alive for Museum guests of all ages. This popular hands-on program is available during the summer and some school breaks.

What inspires you? Maybe something from the Museum’s collection, something from nature, or something from your imagination.

Here’s how it works: All you need to do is draw your idea and tell us about your design. Drawing paper and markers are available at the Museum. Submit your drawing at the Admissions Desk, along with your contact information.

Glassmakers at both the Hot Glass Demo and Flameworking Demo will choose one drawing and make that piece in front of a live audience at the Amphitheater Hot Shop and the Flameworking Demo in the Innovation Center. The designer can watch as their vision become real from start to finish – and even offer the glassmakers on-the-spot creative suggestions.

* Please note: If your design is selected, you'll be contacted to watch our glassmakers make your design in glass – then you may take your masterpiece home once the work has annealed overnight (shipping charges may apply). You Design It; We Make It! is a program for guests visiting the Museum in Corning, N.Y. The Museum does not accept submissions online. We’re sorry, but we will not consider designs of any kind of weapon.
