At the annual banquet, Dwight Lanmon thanks seminarians for their continued support and attendance, and recognizes those who have attended previous glass seminars hosted at the museum. Lanmon also recognizes staff members with anniversary years, and introduces the evening speaker, Rebecca Matlock.

Rebecca Matlock has lived in Russia for several years. She is the wife of the American Ambassador to the Soviet Union and has taken a great interest in art across the USSR. Her talk covers artists of various media, including glass, and from many parts of the country.
