Dark red leather cover, missing half of metal clasp.
First page is an incomplete index to recipes. Pages 1-65 are hand-numbered, followed by 6 blank p. and 11 unnumbered pages beginning with "Some 'receipts' copied from a book belonging to Manderson ([illegible text]) and for wh we gave him £5". These include: Greeners' flint batch, Barrasses' receipt (one for blowing, one for pressing), Martins' receipt, and Stevensons'.
Laid in: recipe on the back of a small blue envelope addressed to "Messrs. Gammont Co., Belmont Glassworks, Birmingham".
