Ledger book with black leather binding. Written inside back cover: "Edward Dithdridge, 201 West 112 St., New York, NY." Pages 1-26 have been cut out; some blank pages. Many entries made in a pictorial code. Entry on p. 233 is dated April 29/13.
Text begins on page 30: "Rome, NY, April 26/01" and includes records of batch trials and costs of batch ingredients, coal, and gas. Also includes recipes for medicines (earache (p. 55), small pox and scarlet fever (p. 163) and lists of pediatric/obstetric physicians.
