The Corning Glass Works Conference Series makes up the bulk of the collection. It consists of supporting documents and correspondence surrounding the planning, publicity and attendance of the first Corning Glass Works Conference held in 1951. Correspondents include J. Richardson Dilworth, Arthur and Amory Houghton, E.P.H. James, Rushmore Mariner and Charles Odegaard. Also included within this series are several newspaper clippings with images of the opening of Corning Glass Works and the first conference.
The General Correspondence Series contains correspondence between Charles Sawyer and Corning Museum of Glass directors and staff. Correspondence and supporting materials surrounding the CMoG Trustees Conference of 1975 is also found within this series.
The Miscellaneous Series, 1954-1976, consists of various reports, newsletters and ephemera about CGW and CMoG along with materials surrounding Sawyer's involvement with the CMoG Educational Committee, 1971-1972, and the CMoG Acquisitions Committee, 1972-1976.
