Drawing is for three serving bowls with underwater motif. Largest bowl takes up entire upper portion of drawing and is blue, green, and red; sea bubbles appear throughout bowl and on top. Anemones are decorated on base. Below are two additional bowls with anemone decoration. All bowls are in light blue. A simple, crude sketch for an additional bowl is drawn in blue along right edge.
Drawing is on tan construction paper.
"Aug. Herbst" -- signed in black ink below upper bowl.
Herbst was one of Émile Gallé's collaborators, being principally employed in the furniture workshops in Nancy. He won a prize for his outstanding designs at the Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1900.
