Documents the travels and education of Gustav Friedrich Faassen, a glass manufacturer who was born August 14, 1823 in Ansbach, Germany. He began his educational journey as a glazier trainee or glass manufacturer in 1842, traveling from Fürth throughout Germany, and into Austria and Poland. He comments on his journey, experiences, and knowledge gained. Includes a pencil sketch of the author approaching a country inn, an account log of each city/town visited, a hand-drawn, watercolored map of Innsbruck and its environs, and a hand-drawn, watercolored map of the journey.
