Design is affixed along right edge to tan construction paper; dimensions including construction paper are 35 x 56 cm.
Drawing is for simple vase with round body and cylindrical top with flowers, leaves, and branches overlaid, some extending past vase to both left and right.
"Atelier Emile Gallé, Sotheby, Monaco" stamped in black ink on lower right corner of design.
"23" written in black ink on upper right corner of tan construction paper backing.
"Vase 492" and additional notation written in black in along lower edge of design.

This collection of designs documents the activities of Gallé's workshop in Nancy, France.
Materials sold at the Sotheby Parke Bernet Monaco auction on October 24, 1982 to Dr. Henry C. Blount, Jr. Portions of the materials were donated to the Museum by Dr. Blount in 1983 (RR 15024) and in 1993 (RR 18447); this Gallé drawings group 3 is for Lot 41, drawing 28.
Displayed September 15, 2014 through January 4, 2015 in the exhibition titled Designing for a new century : works on paper by Lalique and his contemporaries, held at The Rakow Research Library, May 17, 2014-January 4, 2015.
