Entries are ink entries are by at least 2 different hands. It is probable that Christian Stenger started the notebook and successive generations have added to it.
Photograph at end captioned "Christian Stenger [in group] 1882, Lunèville, France.
P. [30] entry is dated Novembre 1881, which is accompanied by an explanation by Louis J. Stenger dated March 4, 1970 that the 1881 entry was added by Johann Stenger, grandson of Christian.
The notebook was found in 1971 in the home of Louis J. Stenger (great-great-grandson of Christian Stenger) by Louis Stenger's son John R. Stenger.
Includes information on technical fine tuning of glass blowing, recipes for various types of glass and crystal, French sayings, mention of a glassworks in Spain, and medical advice. Some entries have Spanish-type words mixed in.
