This film documents the history of glassmaking in Norway, focusing on Hadeland glassverk. In 1739, King Christian VI of Denmark and Norway, granted permission to exploit Norway's natural resources, stiplulating they be used exclusively to support the establishment of glass houses. The natural resources in Norway contributed to a successful manufacturing business for Hadelands, which began production in 1765, and remains the oldest running glass house in Norway. The film includes comprehensive coverage of the glass techniques used throughout the years at Hadelands.
