Of interest is the green glass sculpture "The green eye of the pyramid" by Stanislav Libenský & Jaroslava Brychtová, which can be seen directly behind Ackerman as he speaks.
Roger G. Ackerman.
Opening and closing remarks are those of James R. Houghton, Chairman of the Board, at the Corporate Management Group meeting in Rochester, NY, on October 1983. These remarks were made to energize Corning and reinforce their commitment on quality, performance and diversity which was the plan to help reshape Corning. Roger Ackerman, successor to James Houghton, continues with the use of a timeline to highlight "firsts" that made Corning a leader in the glass industry. His focus then turns to Corning's commitment to re-invention through research and finally congratulates Corning on once again being a successful company.
