Alessandro Moretti was born into a Murano glass family and emigrated to the United States where he began working for the Pilgrim Glass Corporation in the mid 1950s. He is especially remembered for the animals he created in the 1950s.

Glass artist Alessandro Moretti is shown probably working at Pilgrim Glass Corporation making a basket, pineapple, bird, fish, plate, apple, horse, and cat. Techniques he uses include blowing, gathering, marvering, using an optic mold and punty, heat polishing, and the use of frit.
