Television series for elementary school children, "Mr. Wizard", is an educational program in which Mr. Wizard would, with the help of his assistant (Willy or Eddie), explain scientific principles and demonstrate experiments with everyday objects. This episode presents the properties of glass: transparency, its nature as a super-cooled liquid, flexibility when heated, strength and fragility and the necessity for annealing. Other topics covered include Prince Rupert drops and stressed glass, and Corning's Pyrex ware.
