Paul Stankard, world renowned glass paperweight artist was born April 7 1943 in Attleboro, Massachusetts. He graduated from Salem Vocational Technical Institute (now Salem Community College) in Salem, New Jersey with a degree in Scientific Glassblowing. He has received two honorary Doctor of Fine Arts. One is from Rowan University, Glassboro, New Jersey, in 1997 and the other is from Muskingum University, New Concord, Ohio, in 2007. His work has been exhibited in the United States, Europe, Japan and Taiwan. He is a Fellow at the Corning Museum of Glass, Corning, New York and is a founding board member of the Creative Glass Center of America in Millville, New Jersey. Paul Stankard also holds numerous faculty positions in glass art and flameworking.
