Notes:
Batch book.
Title from cover.
This item is part of the Percy J. Beaumont records.
Small ledger with tan leather cover. Sections are divided by alphabetic tabs. Cover and spine are detached from textblock. Appears to have originated as a price book, but subsequently used to record glass batch recipes. This book may have been used into the 1950's; there is a notation in the upper right corner on the E tab, dated 10/26/55.
Pages in section A, I-N, and Y are blank. Two leaves have been cut/torn out at the end of section B. Sections B, P, S-T include ware price information. Section H is a chart form of ingredients and color names.
Recipes are not in alphabetic order. Some include names, such as La Belle, Kay, Buckeye, Rochester Tumbler Co., Gower, Vincent, Bailey, Eades, Thompson, Hinkley, Rollason, Wright, Sturgewal.
James Measell states that all text is written in Percy Beaumont's handwriting, 1880s, when he lived on Wheeling Island. By 1891-1892 he had moved to Martins Ferry.
