Design concept for "repurposing solid wooden objects as molds for glass blowing". Text details that "glassblower would blow hollow vase into this mold. Only bottom part of the vase will have imprint of the wooden objects, while top portion will be perfectly smooth".
Alesina collaborated with gaffers Chris Rochelle, Annette Sheppard, Jason Minami, and Adam Holtzinger July 21-22, 2012 during her time at GlassLab at Governors Island. The glass object that resulted from this image is GL214.
Alesina is a designer and founded Alesina Design Inc., based in the Baltimore area, in 1996.
