Beginning with ancient mosaic, millefiori, and murrini, Jutta-Annette Bruhn offers a definition for each. Her lecture continues showing how an image is created in a glass cane. She includes 15th century Murano beads, 19th century Italian lampworking and portrait canes, paperweights, early 20th century work, plus current work by such artists as Barovier, Barbini, Scarpa and Marquis in her talk.
