Sheldon Barr's area of expertise is 19th-century Venetian glass, especially from the firm of Salviati. His lecture includes luxury art glass made by Salviati; the revival of Renaissance Venetian techniques; gift of Venetian glass by James Jackson Jarves to the Metropolitan Museum in 1881; chalcedony; various colors and reproductions of shapes, as well as murrini tiles, and glass by V. Moretti.
