A very good overview of the history of glass, expecially from a visual standpoint. Filmed at Steuben with James Houston, at the Corning Museum of Glass, and at Pilchuck, as well as in the studios of glass artists. Numerous objects from CMG are shown, although without identification. Sidney Goldstein and Dwight Lanmon, from The Corning Museum of Glass, speak briefly. Perhaps half of the film is devoted to contemporary glassmakers and their work, including Dale Chihuly, William Morris, Joel Philip Myers, Mary Shaffer, Robert Jekyll, Karl Schantz, and Harvey Littleton.
DVD.
Films Incorporated (Chicago) distributed this in two parts, in 1984, in their "Hand and Eye" series.
