Christopher Hacker, Vice President and Design Director, Steuben.
Filmed during the Glass Art Society's 21st annual conference, May 10, 1991, Corning, NY.
After a brief review of the work of Carder and the Houghton years, Hacker highlights objects and designers of the late 1970s and 1980s. Many recent designs (often with copper-wheel engraving) reflect the emphasis on light, form and surface, and the skills of artists such as Dowler, Hilton, Joel Smith, Peter Drobny, etc.
