Dwight Lanmon, Director, The Corning Museum of Glass ; Miriam Mucha, Special Assistant for Glass, American Art Department, Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Filmed during the 28th annual Seminar on Glass at the Corning Museum of Glass, Corning, NY, October 21, 1988.
Rakow grant winner Miriam Mucha shares the results of her research. She concentrates on French pressed molded glass (cristal or sablé) and stippled glass made by Baccarat, St. Louis, Bercy, Trélon, and Choisy-le-Roi (often appearing in Launay-Hautin catalogs), made between 1827 and 1844. Some of the objects shown were published in the 1845 Sèvres Museum catalog or in a 1908 catalog of the Musée des techniques (Paris).
