Documentary on three glassmaking techniques in the West Country are illustrated in this film. The first shows the manufacture of a goblet at Dartington Glass factory in Torrington. The next technique illustrates two different ways of making stained glass: the traditional method with lead strips, and a newer method of setting sheets in resin panels (as shown by Father Charles Norris of Buckfast Abbey). The last technique is that of using a dentist's drill to do stipple pen engraving, which is demonstrated by Robert Melville on sheet glass and cylindrical glasses.
