Each drawing or group of rolled drawings is contained within a plastic enclosure with a label attached. The label identifies the content - church name, location (if known) & inventory number.
Whitefriars 20th century drawings and cartoons.
Approximately 5000 total drawings in this collection. There are 1801 listed items on inventory list provided by the Museum of London but often each enclosure contains a number of drawings. Sometimes just one or two but it is not uncommon for there to be a dozen drawings or more in the one enclosure.
Most, if not all, the drawings are full scale. Medium varies - pencil, charcoal, watercolour. Designers of the windows include James Hogan, Pierre Fourmaintraux and Alfred Fisher.
Preparatory stage designs from the Whitefriars Glass Factory in London.
Many of the rolls are unavailable to researchers due to their fragility; please contact the Special Collections and Archives Librarian for details.
