A widely-respected artist and teacher, Marvin Lipofsky (1938-2016) began his career under the tutelage of Harvey Littleton. A founding member of the American Studio Glass movement, Lipofsky’s career spanned nearly six decades. Also an avid photographer, he documented the rise of Studio Glass through stills and short films, creating a valuable visual record of his contemporaries and his career as a glass artist.
Lipofsky’s digitized slides and film are now part of the Rakow Research Library’s collection. These 40,000+ images chronicling Studio Glass will be preserved and shared through a website describing Lipofsky and his work.
