Fred Kahl Live Streamed Studio Demonstration

A pioneer in three-dimensional digital design, artist Fred Kahl is teaching students in his class how to create reusable graphite molds for glass casting. Get an insider’s view into the process during this live stream from the class Design, Carve, Pour on January 9. See the final piece starting at 1:16:50. When not teaching at The Studio, Kahl likes to explore ways to combine new technologies with traditional glassmaking processes. His glass geometric structures play with light to invoke awe in viewers.

Take a look into a class at The Studio and watch as internationally-renowned faculty demonstrate for their classes ranging from furnace sculpting to flameworking to any other variety of glassblowing techniques.
