This is a Make Your Own Glass project that you can take home the same day that you make it. In this introduction to the art of sandblasting, all ages are invited to be creative and apply any design to glass cups and dishes using stickers and tape.  After your sticker design is complete, Museum staff members will make the design permanent by sandblasting your glass for you.  Sandblasting creates a frosted look by scarring the surface with fine grains of sand propelled by compressed air.  After the sandblasting process is complete we will wash the stickers off to reveal your permanent design. No heating or cooling is required for this activity, and you can take your creation home with you as soon as it's done.

To ensure the health and safety of guests and staff, both parties will be required to sanitize hands before entering the workshop.  All participants must wear a face covering for the duration of the project with no exceptions–even if they have provided medical documentation that exempts them from wearing a face covering for their Museum visit. The workshop floorplan has been adjusted to comply with social distancing guidelines, spacing workstations 6-feet apart, and limited room capacity. Each workstation can accommodate an individual or up to a group of 4 people making projects or assisting project makers. Museum staff will individually distribute the supplies needed to create your project
